Review: The Lie Tree by Frances Hardinge

The Lie Tree by Frances Hardinge

Macmillan $19.99

Costa Book of the Year 2016

Totally gripping and with superbly paced tension, this historical novel has credible detail of its time, balanced with a very contemporary mind-set.

The characters prove to be totally 3 dimensional, under stress in this clever original plot. The blurb on the back does not really hint at the especially wild story you are about to engage with.

Suits a worldly 12 year old and up.
