Favourite book of 2015:We’re Going on a Bear Hunt (the sound version)

Favourite quote of the momentLoss from Serious Concerns by Wendy Cope:

The day he moved out was terrible-

That evening she went through hell.

His absence wasn’t a problem

But the corkscrew had gone as well.

How long have you worked at Vic Books? Four years.

What made you want to work in a bookshop? My lovely mother worked in a bookshop, so it was a very natural choice after leaving school.

Tell us about your first day at Vic Books. Grenade by Bruno Mars played over and over on the radio, the busiest textbook rush of the year, beautiful mid summer weather, and it was the first bookshop I worked for that had a cafe. It was very much a compliment sandwich moment.

What is it about bookshops that you enjoy the most? Being surrounded by books.

What are the best parts of working for Vic Books? Being surrounded by books. And coffee. And crafty time with my amazing crew.

Favourite moment at Vic Books of 2015: We had our first story time this year and the wee ones came in to hear Baz read our favourite children’s books. It was so wonderful to see lovely families come in and enjoy our shop in a new way.
